A.B. Chase Grand Piano
SERIAL #: 52832
FINISH: Flared Mahogany
An excellent instrument with a beautiful, flared Mahogany case, this piano has seen restoration work in its recent past. Far from an antique with purely aesthetic value, this piano is in very good playing condition with a strong bass and a clear, sustaining tone. It has been thoroughly tuned, regulated, and voiced by our expert technicians and is ready for a new owner.
A.B. Chase pianos were made in Ohio from 1875 up until late 1931 when the company was absorbed into the large Aeolian Corporation, and Aeolian continued to build instruments under the A. B Chase name until 1985. A.B. Chase was among the many hundreds of American manufacturers operating during this “Golden Age” period; most of which were located nearly door to door in the New York and Chicago areas allowing for techniques and materials to be traded with ease. Much like the “Silicon Valley” of today, this proximity greatly contributed to the spread of quality production techniques and the advancement of our modern instrument.
A. B. Chase offered a large selection of upright pianos, grand pianos, and player pianos, and their instruments were known to be of superior quality. A. B. Chase truly built some incredible pianos, and their instruments are considered very desirable by musicians and piano technicians alike.
